Tek Tip: Switching computers? Back up your Favorites (or Bookmarks) in Firefox First!
For those of us who use and administer settings in Firefox, there is a key difference when making sure your favorites transfer over if you change computers. In Internet Explorer, you can simply copy and paste the items in your favorites folder. In Firefox, it’s not quite as simple, but it is still fairly easy. You simply need to do a Backup of your Bookmarks.
If you open up Bookmarks in Firefox and do a “Show All” you find the option to Backup or Restore. Once you backup it creates a file which you can then restore on the new machine. Voilà! Done and you don’t lose a favorite (Bookmark).
